Snow In California

Well sort of...
In the city of Lake Forest they have a snow festival day...They "make" snow and bring it to a park.  The park is set up with sledding and other fun things for the kids to do...You buy tickets for the sledding and also for the rides and attractions.  When we got there, Abbie was excited to see the snow...but once she saw the rides and other things to do...she quickly forgot about the snow and was more interested in the "side" attractions...Her first order of business was to ride the rides...

After riding on several rides, we finally convinced her to try the snow, since our ticket window for the snow was only an hour long...We had to go fast....She went into the gated area to play in the snow...She wasn't impressed...The "snow" was more like ground up ice chips and she couldn't make a snow angel...She only stayed in there for about 3 minutes...

Can you see the look on her face when one of the workers tried to show her the "snow"...She was not impressed...She was expecting it to be like the snow at Nana's house in Idaho...

We convinced her to try sledding...She did the bunny hill and liked it...but once was enough...She wouldn't go on the big hill with Mike or me...She wanted to get her face painted...

So we went to stand in line for face painting...There was only one girl working the booth and the line was sooo long...I stood in line for about 45 minutes waiting for our turn...Mike took her on other rides while I waited...It was finally her turn and she chose a butterfly to be painted on her face....

 So happy!

Sweet Aimee was along for the ride...I love this baby!

Who knew that the Lake Forest bird is the hummingbird?  Well, now you know and so do we...

Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother made an appearance...Abbie was in heaven...

It was a great snow day...minus the snow activities...Silly Abbie...She just has her own ideas...Next year we'll skip the snow part and just enjoy the other activities!

Ha! We had the same "snow" at our Winterfest in Henderson. My kids were not impressed either! The girls are so gorgeous!
